The Basics
What material to bring with you
Are ghosts dangerous ?
Ghost-hunting : their favorite places

Numerous activities can be led around ghost-hunting, wheter it is for pure fun (hiking, socializing, playing roles), artistic purposes or real hunt, it often takes place at night in an hostile or unknown environment. For this reason, you will take care of your own person, your partners and the physical surroundings (ghost-hunting is not an excuse for breaking in private properties or burning premises or abandoned houses). Avoid to bring weapons and drink or take drugs which would result in unwanted and dangerous behaviours.

A paranormal investigator negotiates with spirits who are active in the earth plane. These spirits take up residence in buildings or areas they used to inhabit or frequent when they were in the human frame. Though you still get the odd investigator who will say things like, "I can hear the spirits talking to me," there are many more who insist they strive for cold, scientific certainty.

"You have to analyze the data you’re getting."

"You have to be a skeptic."

"You have to be professional."

"You have to eliminate rational possibilities."

"You have to go in looking for the logical."

Use your communication skills

See if you can coerce them,
Ask them who they are

“In the name of Jesus Christ, give us a sign of your presence."

“In the name of Jesus Christ, how would you feel if an exorcism were to be performed?"

"Is your name Bob?"

Getting rid of ghosts or cleansing a haunted home can be done by having it blessed, or by finding a psychic to  commune with the ghosts, encouraging them to move on from this world and "into  the light”.
